Recently iv'e been looking at anti-smoking adverts and the ways in which smoking is portrayed on such an undesirable level. Someone who i found to be particularly  interesting was the works of Kelly Ashcraft. Her photos interested me mainly because they work with the idea of using and altering cigarette smoke to create different meanings and images, in this case portraying objects of death such as guns and knives which appear emerging from the clouds of smoke surrounding the smoker, clearly symbolizing the high level of death which surrounds smokers and the little it takes to give up and reduce it.

This would be something id like to use within my work but use it relating to the facial area, i think i need to experiment more with slow shutter as well as using different types of lighting as this may help when capturing clear and sharper images of the smoke against a person.
